Each of us wants to feel good and safe in our own home. To fully relax after a long day, we seek silence and peace. Living in a block of flats, we are particularly exposed to various types of noise—children crying, footsteps in the stairwell, barking dogs, and many other sounds. In such a situation, it is important to invest in good entrance doors that not only look beautiful but also protect us from noise coming from the stairwell and possess other equally important qualities.
Noise
We feel our best when the surrounding sounds do not exceed 40 dB; at that level, we can relax and rest peacefully. Sounds above 40 dB can lower our well-being, causing irritability and fatigue, thereby disrupting our relaxation.
When choosing doors for an apartment, it is essential to ensure they have good acoustic insulation. The normative level of acoustic insulation for doors is 30 dB, but this largely depends on the material used for the door panels. Wooden doors have sound absorption ranging from 27 to 36 dB, aluminum doors from 33 to 44 dB, and PVC doors up to 47 dB.
Burglary resistance
Entrance doors should be secure. It is advisable to choose a burglary resistance class of RC2 or RC3 to protect against unwanted guests.
- Burglary resistance class RC2 – doors resistant to forced entry using simple tools such as: screwdriver, wedge, hammer
- Burglary resistance class RC3 – doors providing protection against the use of: crowbar, power drill, hammer, or chisel
Drzwi otwierane do środka
